One Brother's Love Inspired a Bigger Mission
Young Hearts Autism Foundation began with one simple observation from a young boy who saw how people treated his younger brother with autism. What started as a small act of kindness has grown into a family-led mission that encourages understanding, celebrates differences, and helps create communities where every child feels welcomed and included.
How It All Began
A Simple Idea That Changed Everything
Young Hearts Autism Foundation started with something one nine-year-old boy couldn’t ignore—how people treated his younger brother.
He noticed children staring instead of saying hello. He watched parents pull their children away at the park instead of encouraging them to play together. Rather than standing by, he decided to make a difference.
He shared his idea with his father, and together they started with a neighborhood lemonade stand, a hand-painted sign, and one heartfelt message:
“Different is not less than.”
That single lemonade stand became the beginning of something much bigger. It inspired bake sales, book and school supply donations, and meaningful conversations that help children understand autism through kindness, empathy, and real-life experiences instead of assumptions.
Today, Young Hearts Autism Foundation continues to grow one conversation, one family, and one community at a time.
